Wild Card is a Jason Statham action vehicle which is also a remake of a flop Burt Reynolds movie called Heat from 1986. Both films are scripted by the great screenwriter William Goldman. As Goldman would himself agree with, if you are going to do a remake, then remake a bad movie. Unfortunately lightning has struck twice here. Sorry William sometimes a bad story is just toxic which should be left well alone. Statham plays a Las Vegas bodyguard that works for a lawyer and he usually takes jobs being minding for gamblers and himself as gambling problem, dreaming to hit it big so he can retire to a paradise island.
